MI-3: learning from the past, looking at the future

March 18, 2018

The 3rd Ministerial meeting for MI will be a crucial moment to take a stock of past achievements while looking at the future and ambitious goals ahead. Half-way through the initial commitment announced by leaders at COP21 in Paris, MI-3 marks an important stepping stone to assess and accelerate the progress of Mission Innovation.

Back in 2015 Member countries committed to seeking to double their government investment in clean energy research and innovation over five years to 2021. They are also encouraging greater levels of private sector investment and partnership in transformative clean energy technologies.

At MI-3 energy ministers together with high-level representatives from the business and research community will announce engagement in new areas, bringing clean energy innovation to our citizens, communities and cities. The forum will also be an opportunity to present ambitious ideas Mission Innovation wants to pursue over the next three years and beyond.

Two official side events will strongly contribute to the impact of this ministerial,  involving stakeholders across the energy and innovation sectors:

  • Solutions Summit
  • Malmo Cleantech Capital Days

The Solutions Summit will be an engaging event open to innovators, investors, the public and media to showcase cutting-edge solutions, breakthroughs, ideas and innovators, emerging from and supported by RD&D investments by MI members.

Malmö Clean tech Capital Days, is organised in collaboration with Cleantech Scandinavia and will gather public and private sector actors, companies and investors- around key technology areas to explore investment opportunities.
